@article{reddy_vindhya_reddy, title={EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS OF CAM FOR EVALUATING PERFORMANCE OF COMPRESSED AIR ENGINE WITH PETROL ENGINE}, volume={04}, abstractNote={The petrol engine is a type of "Internal combustion Engine" which uses "Gasoline" (petrol) to run the engine. It requires 4-strokes of the piston to complete one cycle of operation in the engine cylinder. The petrol engine uses the expansion of burning fuel from the engine cylinder to drive the pistons of the engine. Exhaust temperature of the petrol engine is more and thus causes global warming, and releases the harmful gases which cause more environmental pollutions to atmosphere. Compressed Air Engine is a substitute technology which uses compressed air to run the engine and thus eliminates the use of fossil fuels. The compressed air engine was a modified 100 cc engine. The engine was altered from a conventional 4-stroke IC Engine to a 2-stroke Pneumatic engine by using a modified cam which is driven by crank shaft. An air driven engine is a pneumatic actuator that creates valuable work by the expansion of compressed air to drive the piston of the engine. As combustion is not required, there is no need of mixing the fuel with air. Exhaust temperature of it will be slightly less than atmospheric temperature and thus helps in controlling global warming and reducing the temperature rise caused by other. This paper covers the need and importance of Compressed Air Engine that can play a very prominent role in attending energy crisis by the use of compressed air. The study investigates and evaluates the possibility of a Compressed Air Engine and compares the performance parameters with the Petrol (Gasoline) Engine. The system designed here functions with the principle of compressed air system having Compressed Air as a medium.}, author={Reddy and Vindhya and Reddy} }
