Abstract
George Kudilil first situates the teaching of St Paul in 1 Cor
11:17-34 within the Sitz im Leben of the Church in Corinth and shows
the unbreakable link between the Eucharistic celebration and
community building. Kudilil then compares the socio-religious
context of the Indian Church with that of Corinth and applies some of
the implications of 1 Cor 11:17-34 to the Church in India. The author
challenges the Church to celebrate the Lord's Supper more
meaningfully by following the Table Fellowship of Jesus as well as
the teaching of St Paul.
