Abstract

It is considered some linguistic peculiarities of the implementation of the principle of credibility in the modern political detective. The modern period has been marked by a great number of events of international importance: wars, changes of political regimes, disintegrations of large states into smaller ones, terrorist attacks and a lot of others. It is clear that political themes are becoming the most significant for the world today. Global political change is shaping the agenda in many countries. So, it seems natural that during this period of time such type of the detective genre as a political detective begins to gain its popularity. Few current research works devoted to specific features of the political detective as well as the uncertainty and blur of the very concept of this genre prove the necessity to study this new kind of detective, its characteristic features and principles, in particular the basic principle of credibility which is based on documentation in general and implemented either by the documentary method of describing events or the author's general knowledge and outlook.
