Abstract
<ns3:p>We present a genome assembly from an individual female <ns3:italic>Laothoe populi </ns3:italic>(the poplar hawk-moth; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Sphingidae). The genome sequence is 576 megabases in span. The majority of the assembly is scaffolded into 29 chromosomal pseudomolecules, with the W and Z sex chromosome assembled.</ns3:p>
