Its acetoxymethyl derivative (2) has also been synthesized. Diethyl 3,3'-bis(ethoxycarbonylmethyl)-4,4^'-dimethyl­2,2'-dipyrrylmethane-5,5¹-dicarboxylate has been synthesized by self-condensation of 2<strong>.</strong>
