+content = "First and second/foreign language learning differ substantially in the degree of proficiency attained by the learners. Many factors have been proposed to account for this variation, foremost among which aptitude, attitudes and motivation. The present study primarily explored the possible interaction between attitudes, motivation and students' performance in English in two distinct settings. It was hypothesized that an integrative orientation and favourable attitudes are powerful incentives that can determine success in language learning. The hypothesis was tested both in the second and foreign language settings with two different populations of Greek students. The subjects for the first study were 51 Greek young adults from the University of Kent, while the subjects for the study in the foreign language context comrpised 470 Greek secondary school students, drawn from language schools in Athens. The study in Greece further examined the effect that gender and socioeconomic background could have on the students' attitudes and motivation and investigated the influence of parents on their children's attitudes and motivational orientations."

+content = "Here, we present an innovative preform manufacturing technique for specialty optical fibres based on a carbon monoxide laser heating a rotating preform. The setup performance is evaluated with the aid of finite element modelling. The fabrication process is described in detail using silicon core preforms as a benchmark. The hybrid material nature of such a preform is addressed, together with the relevant characteristics, such as the difference in thermal conductivity and thermal expansion. Si-core preforms with a wide range of core sizes were manufactured, proving the viability of this system for the development specialty optical fibres based on novel materials."

I examine how the arrival of an international airport materializes through constructed environments, landscapes and other forms of cultural expression, even years before the construction of the airport begins. In the collection of videos, I have been conceiving the airport as a form of global communication and an expression of neocolonialism in a rural Quechua town where colonization has been materializing since pre-Inca times."

+content = "L'objectif de ce papier est d'étudier les effets de l'inclusion financière sur la croissance économique en Côte d'Ivoire. Dans un contexte où l'inclusion financière se positionne comme une priorité pour les Etats, très peu de travaux s'intéressent au cas de la Côte d'Ivoire malgré les efforts considérables consentis par ce pays pour atteindre une meilleure inclusion financière. Notre étude est réalisée dans le but de résoudre ce problème de manque de travaux étudiant le lien entre l'inclusion financière et la croissance économique en Côte d'Ivoire. Pour atteindre notre objectif, nous avons procédé à l'application d'un modèle VECM sur des données couvrant la période de 1995 à 2019. Les résultats de l'estimation montrent que l'inclusion financière des particuliers à un effet négatif à court terme et un effet positif à long terme tandis que l'inclusion financière des entreprises à un effet positif sur la croissance économique à court terme et à long terme."

+content = "Here, we present an innovative preform manufacturing technique for specialty optical fibres based on a carbon monoxide laser heating a rotating preform. The setup performance is evaluated with the aid of finite element modelling. The fabrication process is described in detail using silicon core preforms as a benchmark. The hybrid material nature of such a preform is addressed, together with the relevant characteristics, such as the difference in thermal conductivity and thermal expansion. Si-core preforms with a wide range of core sizes were manufactured, proving the viability of this system for the development specialty optical fibres based on novel materials."

The chemical structure of various phenolic acid which presents in sugar cane juice are interact with the Fe(III) through chemical reaction or by changing conditions which results in the various colourant formation during sugar formation are described. The uptake of iron by plants depends considerably on the presence of both complexing and reducing reagents. These colour complex impacts on the sugar quality and the effect on the value of the sugar in the market is significant. This study helps in the reduction of colour and provides antioxidants as a by-product during sugar processing."

+content = "While the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 in healthy people does not differ significantly among age groups, those aged 65 years or older exhibit strikingly higher COVID-19 mortality compared to younger individuals. To further understand differing COVID-19 manifestations in patients of different ages, three age groups of ferrets were infected with SARS-CoV-2. Although SARS-CoV-2 was isolated from all ferrets regardless of age, aged ferrets (≥3 years old) showed higher viral loads, longer nasal virus shedding, and more severe lung inflammatory cell infiltration and clinical symptoms compared to juvenile (≤6 months) and young adult (1-2 years) groups. Furthermore, direct contact ferrets co-housed with the virus-infected aged group shed more virus than direct-contact ferrets co-housed with virus-infected juvenile or young adult ferrets. Transcriptome analysis of aged ferret lungs revealed strong enrichment of gene sets related to type I interferon, activated T cells, and M1 macrophage responses, mimicking the gene expression profile of severe COVID-19 patients. Thus, SARS-CoV-2-infected aged ferrets highly recapitulate COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms and are useful for understanding age-associated infection, transmission, and pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2."

+content = "Air transport is completely dependent upon liquid hydrocarbon fuels because of their requirement of high energy density. Aviation fuel from renewable sources is a \"DROP-IN\" alternative for air transport as it has a similar high energy density and meets all the required fuel specifications. This chapter describes advances in this area and future challenges. Major challenges faced by the industry with respect to the development of alternative aviation fuel are - high quality standards requirements, safety issues, wide range of operational conditions and drop-in kind with traditional aviation jet fuel. Liquid biofuels are the only low-CO<sub>2 </sub>emission option for substituting traditional aviation turbine fuel (ATF), as they have high specific energy content and can be blended with commercial ATF. Hydrogenated vegetable and animal fats and oils, Fischer-Tropsch (FT) based on biomass, Renewable Synthesized Iso-Paraffinic (SIP) fuel to jet fuel are some of the option available to produce aviation fuel and are included in approved ASTM standard. The feedstock can be classified into three categories based on the downstream process: 1. Oil containing biomass 2. Lignocellulose biomass 3. Sugars and Starch biomass. The first two categories is processed via thermal or catalytic or combination of these two routes to produce fuel, while the third category of feedstock is converted via enzymatic or catalytic or combination of these two routes."
